Position available to mature, flexible and energetic gentlemen/gentlewoman to work with a higher-functioning autistic male in his thirties. Worker must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and cell phone. Worker will educate, instruct and assist male in activities relating to running a household (budgeting, cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, washing dishes, etc.) as well as developing volunteer opportunities locally. Worker will assist and instruct male with minimal activities of self-care as individual is mostly independent. Worker may assist male with yard work according to seasons. Individual will be responsible for bringing male to engage in exercise/recreation at YMCA or another community activity as they arise. Worker needs to be understanding with experience with autism a plus. Worker will seek out and develop volunteer opportunities. Must be a high school graduate. Hours are from 9 to 1:00 but can be flexible. Starting salary is $22.00/hr subject to CORI check, appropriate resume and three references. Job is funded through DDS.
