Job Description:
Lux Manufacturing is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Set-Up Operator for our swing shift. As an ITAR registered and AS9100 certified manufacturer, we specialize in high-precision components mainly serving the Aerospace and Defense sectors. Our facility features a modern fleet of Haas, Okuma, and Matsuura machines. In this role, you will handle the setup, operation, and optimization of these multi-axis mills and lathe machines, ensuring every part meets strict defense and flight-critical quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Machine Operation: Perform setups and efficiently operate Haas, Okuma, and Matsuura CNC milling and/or lathe machines.
• Program Validation: Load, run, and validate part programs for optimal, high-precision production.
• Quality Control: Perform First Article inspections and routinely measure tight-tolerance parts using micrometers, calipers, and specialized gages to maintain AS9100 compliance.
• Shop Maintenance: Complete secondary shop duties, including deburring parts and general workspace cleaning.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• ITAR Compliance: Due to defense regulations and ITAR requirements, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder).
• Quality Standards: Familiarity with high-precision machining and quality demands typical of an AS9100-certified aerospace facility.
• Control Proficiency: Ability to perform light program editing and manage tool offsets (Haas control experience preferred).
• Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read and accurately interpret technical blueprints and GD&T symbols.
• Professionalism: Proven track record of being punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Preferred Experience:
• 3+ years of experience working in an industrial or aerospace machine shop environment.
• Hands-on experience with CNC programming (Gibbs) and advanced editing is a strong plus.
