I hope this message finds you in good health & spirits. I’ve been raised in Sun Jose. It was 10 years ago that I became disabled with MS. We have a SCCHA Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher for my disabled family, and we’re hoping to move as soon as this Friday if possible because we are cutting it very close to our last couple of days to have to move out. Things are hectic with school being back. Quick question—are you already familiar/enrolled with SCCHA and able to complete the RTA/lease approval packet right away? We’re on a tight timeline and don’t have time for a first-time setup.
Just to be upfront so we can move quickly: my head-of-household credit score is ~710 on Credit Karma. Our income according to SCCHA is SSI. My adult children live away from home and they contributes over $5k a month so we can live comfortably.
Even though we’re a 3-person household, SCCHA approved a 5-bedroom voucher as a disability accommodation for us to have separate bedrooms and medical rooms. We also have a great landlord recommendation letter, we’ve been at our current home for 9 years. Our original voucher is a 6 bedroom but it seems there are no 6 bedrooms to rent.
