The price for everything below is $1,240. I won't sell any of these items separately. This price is firm and non-negotiable. Please don't ask for a discount or make an offer.
I am selling a computer server that is intended for residential use or small office use. The system includes a number of computer components that, when taken together, constitute a fully working server. You'll get the following components:
– HPE Brand ProLiant Series Server with Case, Motherboard, CPU, RAM, SSD, and Linux Operating System
– Adaptec Brand Internal Expansion HBA-RAID Card
– Two (2) Sans Digital Brand Direct Attached Storage (DAS) Units
– Sixteen (16) Western Digital Brand 3TB Hard Disk Drives (HDDs)
More complete details are described below. But here is a quick summary:
The HPE brand server is a fully working computer with a small case, motherboard, CPU, RAM, and SSD installed. The server currently has installed a version of Linux server operating system for testing purposes. But you can install whatever software operating system you want.
The server currently has 48TB of HDD storage installed, which includes sixteen (16) hard disk drives (HDDs) that are each 3TB in capacity (16x3TB=48TB). But you can always increase this storage capacity to well over 500TB by replacing the current storage drives with much larger ones.
These 16 storage drives are currently housed within the two external storage towers, which are often called Direct Attached Storage (DAS) units. These DAS units are physically distinct from the HPE server. The two DAS units and server connect to each other via the internal RAID card (see below) currently installed within the server using the included SAS cables.
As mentioned above, the server currently has an expansion HBA-RAID card installed that allows you to manage the data on the included storage drives. You can create redundant arrays of drives and data to protect against drive failures. Or you can simplify data management by allocating data across multiple drives. The HBA card allows for multiple versions of RAID, including 0, 1, 5, 6, and JBOD.
Besides the 16 storage drives currently installed, the server has extra, unused space for four (4) more internal drives, which are housed within the server itself. Altogether, the server has space for up to 20 storage drives. But only 16 storage drives are included in the purchase.
If you need more information about any of these components, please see below.
You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction.
I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK. But arranging pickup solely using email is not a feasible option for me. Eventually, you'll have to text me to arrange a specific pickup or delivery time. Thanks.

More Complete Details About the HPE Server:
Included in the system is an HPE brand computer server. This is from their ProLiant MicroServer series, model number Gen8.
This is a small-form-factor (SFF) computer with a very small computer case that measures about 10" wide, 10" deep, and 10" tall. The case has front-panel access to up to four (4) internal storage drives. Pictures 2 to 4, taken from the HP website, are of the server.
The computer server has a HPE motherboard with an Intel brand C204 chipset, an Intel brand Celeron G1610T CPU, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and an Intel brand 128GB SSD (model DC-S3110).
As mentioned above, the server currently has a version of Linux operating system installed for testing purposes. You can feel free to replace this software for whatever you need for your circumstances.
The server is in excellent functional condition. There is nothing wrong with it. You can feel free to test it before purchase as confirmation.
Please note that no monitor, keyboard, or mouse is included in the purchase.

More Complete Details About the Adaptec Brand Internal Expansion HBA-RAID Card:
Included in the system is a PCIE-type RAID / HBA expansion card. It's an Adaptec brand, model ASR-78165. Pictures 11 to 12, taken from the Adaptec website, are of the expansion card.
This card is currently installed within the server motherboard's internal PCIE x8 slot. The card is capable of connecting up to 24 drives (16 external + 8 internal) in a variety of RAID and Non-RAID arrays, including 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD. You can use standard hard disk drives (HDDs), which can be either SAS or SATA type. And you can also use standard solid state drives (SSDs), which can be either SAS or SATA type.
The HBA RAID card is in excellent functional condition. There is nothing wrong with it. You can confirm that it works before purchase.
The card comes with both a low-profile bracket for use within the HPE server case. Please note that no backup battery or internal SAS cables are included. But four (4) sets of external SAS cables are included for connection to the DAS units mentioned below.

More Complete Details About the Two (2) Sets of Sans Digital Brand Direct Attached Storage (DAS) Units:
Included in the system are two (2) identical external storage towers that connect to the above RAID card, using standard SAS cables. These external storage towers are often called direct attached storage (DAS) units.
You'll get two identical DAS units, which are Sans Digital brand. These are from their TowerRAID series, model number TR8X12G. Pictures 5 to 9, taken from the Sans Digital website, are of the DAS. As a reminder, you'll get two of these. And Picture 10, also taken from the Sans Digital website, are of the included SAS cables.
These are standard tower-style DAS units and can each accommodate up to eight (8) hard disk drives (HDD) or eight (8) solid state drives (SSD). The drives can be either 3.5" in size, 2.5" in size, or a combination of these two sizes.
Each storage drive is installed, using standard screws, into a single removable drive tray that slide into the housing using standard metal rails. Each DAS unit has eight of these drive trays. Between the two DAS units, you'll get 16 drive trays.
When both DAS units are attached to the RAID card, the server can access the 16 storage drives (2x8). Each DAS connects to the RAID card using standard SAS cables, which are included in the sale. There is one SAS cable for each 4 drives. Altogether, you'll get 4 SAS cables (4x4). Each cable is 1 meter in length.
Both DAS units and cables are all in excellent functional condition. There is nothing wrong with any of it. You can feel free to test the units to confirm that they work.
Please note that I no longer have the original cardboard boxes and product manuals for these DAS units.

More Complete Details About the Sixteen (16) Western Digital Brand 3TB Hard Disk Drives (HDDs):
Included in the system are sixteen (16) HDDs that are 3TB in storage capacity each. All 16 HDDs are Western Digital Corporation (WDC) brand, from their 'RE Series' of enterprise datacenter drives and are similar to their 'Black Series'. These are all model number WD3000FYYZ/X. A few have HP or Dell brand labels, but they are still manufactured by Western Digital with the same model number. Pictures 13 to 17 are of the actual storage drives for sale.
Eight (8) HDDs can be inserted into each DAS unit for a total of 24TB of storage capacity (8x3TB). When you combine the two DAS units, the total storage capacity is 48TB (2x8x3TB).
All of these drives have almost no use. All have been powered on for no more than 8 hours for testing. Almost no data has been written to these and if data was written, it was for testing purposes. I tested all drives using CrystalDiskInfo and WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic software and these applications reported no concerns. Pictures 18 to 21 are of the actual CrystalDiskInfo testing reports for all storage drives.
[Please note that the included RAID card allows for up to 24 storage drives to be accessed (16 external and 8 internal). Therefore, it's possible for you to add another 8 internal drives to this system beyond what I am providing. The server case has internal space for up to four storage drives.]
