For sale is a solid wood display cabinet or display case. It can also be used for general storage. It's from the Scandinavian mid-century-modern (MCM) genre of furniture, first made popular in the 1950s and 1960s. This is an unbranded cabinet that was purchased by my mother in the 1960s. This is a high-end piece of furniture. This is not a particle board item that you can purchase cheaply at Ikea or Amazon.
Nearly the entire cabinet is constructed of solid teak wood or solid walnut wood. This is solid and not just wood veneer over MDF. Besides the wood, there are two clear glass doors and a few metal parts for the interior shelving support and handles. The entire cabinet measures about 36" wide, 11" deep, and 44" tall. It weighs about 20 pounds. The display case is broken down into two usable sections.
The top section of the case is used to display and showcase small curios, art items, and memorabilia. This top section has two glass doors that protect the items inside from dust. These doors move left and right to access the displayed items. If you prefer, you can completely remove these glass door panels. The interior space of this top section measures about 34" wide, 9" deep, and 25.5" tall. Within this space is a removable shelf that is slightly height-adjustable. This shelf roughly breaks the 25.5" height into equal upper and lowers sub-sections that are each about 12.5" tall (+/- 1 inch).
The bottom section is used to store items which you want to keep hidden from view. This top section has two wood doors that move left and right to access the items stored inside. If you prefer, you can completely remove these glass door panels for a more open look. The interior space of this bottom section measures about 34" wide, 9" deep, and 12.5" tall.
The entire cabinet is in excellent structural and functional condition. All teak wood and walnut wood support beams are in robust structural condition, with no bending, warping, or fatigue. The two glass door panels for the top section are intact with no structural concerns. These glass door panels slide left and right with ease. The removable shelf within the top section is also in perfect condition. The two wooden door panels for the bottom section are intact with no structural concerns. These wooden door panels slide left and right with ease. Structurally speaking, the cabinet is in great condition.
The entire cabinet is also in excellent cosmetic condition. The only thing to note are some small surface scratches on the wood at the very top and on one of the bottom section door panels. These may be slightly noticeable, especially if you are looking for them. But these are merely cosmetic issues that don't harm the structural integrity of the cabinet.
You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. You'll probably need an SUV or truck. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction.
I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK. But arranging pickup solely using email is not a feasible option for me. Eventually, you'll have to text me to arrange a specific pickup or delivery time. Thanks.
