This Large sized aluminum bike has 26" wheels on 19.5" frame and is a good fit for those 5'9" to 5' 11" or so. Quite resonably can be good for a 6-footer. It has 27 speed drivetrain with MEGA-Gear (34 teeth at that top for extreme climbing). Hydraulic brakes. 120mm lockout fork. Frame is made at the Kinesis factory (yes that one making frames for Specialized http://www.kinesis.com.tw/) Real deal hardtail mountain bike. If you read this, the bike is still available.
Take a look at the specs to see that it's a rare case where the same bike for about the same price got components downgrades (for example the lockout 120mm-of-travel fork got downgrades to 100mm from 2011 to 2012 [odd indeed]:
I had the bike tuned. Now it's collecting dust in my living room.
Why this hardtail?
What sets it apart is:
1) Front brake rotor is 180mm (not basic 160).
2) Hydraulic brakes are not entry level junk but Shimano M445
3) Fork got 120mm of travel
4) Fork got the lockout (no annoying bobbing as you scale a grade)
5) You got the rear cassette to make to any top with 34T and 11T for speed.
6) Frame had all the Kinesis magic done to it to make it light and strong for the bike class (triple butting, hydroforming, and all the IP Kinesis technology in between applied).
7) Decent double-wall rims (funky white spokes and rim design)
8) It's all Shimano for the drivetrain (had bad luck with SRAM one time too many)
9) Aluminum alloy pedals (no human drama of having a plastic pedal fall apart in the middle of nowhere).
This rig has quick release for everything to make transporting it easy: You can remove in seconds the seat, and both wheels.
The bike's cosmetic condition is good (it's a mountain bike, so can't be museum specimen). No cracks. No dents.
The mechanical condition is good. The bike's dialed in. All is straight and tight, and I am not selling it because it is a bad bike- I got too many bikes according to my wife :)
