Seeking PCAs for Friday, Saturday daytimes 8AM- 2 PM. Also need one AFTERNOON from 3 to 6 PM. – –
I truly value all the PCAs who have helped me live an independent and meaningful life for the past 35 years. You guys are the best and make such a difference to me.
– For the daytime positions I am looking for help with eating, some range of motion, changing a leg bag and doing my bathroom routine on Fridays. I stay in bed about 4 days a week and roll from side to side every 3 hours in order to offload a pressure sore on my lower back. The patch on the pressure sore gets changed every morning and we teach you how to do that. Not complicated.
When I do get up and in my wheelchair we use a Hoyer lift. I may want to go out in my van to do errands or go to a doctor so I am looking for people who can drive my minivan. We will happily train you in how to do these things. Once you get used to the routine, it will all fall into place. These are very good skills to acquire as you move up in the medical field.
The afternoon-evening job (3 PM-8 PM) involves some food preparation, feeding me supper, giving me my medication and changing a leg bag.
If you are interested in ANY of these hours, please write to me AS SOON AS YOU CAN
Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
TRANSPORTATION– Buses run from Forest Hills to Roslindale Village, which is about a
10 minute walk to my house. There is also a 51 bus that runs between Forest Hills and Cleveland Circle. It stops at the end of my street.
The Roslindale Village Commuter rail station is a five-minute walk from my house, and runs from Roslindale to Boston on the Needham line. You can go to MBTA.com and check out the stops on this line. I know it stops at Ruggles, Back Bay and South Station.
