THIS is ON the rail trail (CRT) NOT the camp (they've got no trespass signs on the latter). I'M NOT EVEN SURE WHAT THIS IS...FOR MOUNTING ON GROUND OR PICNIC TABLES? HELP ME OUT.
Call me pathetic, but I come across some pretty wasteful stuff thrown away by the Decapitated Veterans Gen. Sherman "private' park (ACTUALLY I WON A FIGHT WITH A.I about this= its on the rail trail, north from rte 9,( above the Camp Arrowhead, located at 1055 Worcester Street), Natick, MA 01760.Your memory is spot-on—the facility was originally built in the early 1950s by the Amputee Veterans Association of America as a recreational waterfront area for veterans recovering from war wounds.
AT this time, they've dumped a pretty neat multi leg sun canopy. I don't know how many it fits, but it comes with a zipper canvas bag with wheels (!), has one bar which snapped but nds. only a bit of duct tape (hence my anger that these summer camps can't utilize their minds to fix or donate themselves)!
I'm doing the earth a favor, by having placed it on the adjacent "Cochituate Rail Trail" right by the double black anodyzed gates which face the camp. IF no one takes it by the weekend, yeah, I'll drag it to Savers or something. Only downer if you go is it's about 1000 feet from nearest parking (VFW leased building has a long lot to the north), or you could park discreetly (?) in a lot just after the bridge (some company called 'Delivery Systems", used to be Toolmex)!
NOTE there's a phone # for service which may supply addt'l parts?
