Morro Bay Oyster Company is looking for a positive, dependable, and hardworking Farm Team Member to join us on our scenic oyster farm in the Morro Bay Estuary.
This is hands-on work in a beautiful environment, where teamwork, responsibility, perseverance, and good stewardship make a difference every day. If you enjoy working outdoors, serving a team, taking pride in doing things the right way, and aren't afraid of getting your hands dirty, we'd love to hear from you.
No previous oyster-farming experience is necessary. We'll provide the training and equipment you need to learn the work and become a valued member of our team.
What You'll Do
* Pack and ship customer orders with care and attention to detail
* Monitor and report tank and farm conditions
* Take short boat trips to our estuary farm
* Work both in and out of the water, using provided wetsuits and safety gear
* Plant, tend, and care for oyster seed
* Harvest, sort, wash, pack, and ship mature oysters
* Maintain and repair farm gear and equipment
* Operate equipment used to sort, wash, and move oysters
* Keep work areas, tools, and equipment organized and in good working condition
* Work closely with teammates to accomplish daily farm goals

What We Provide:
We provide the work attire and equipment necessary for the job, including:
* Wetsuits
* Gloves
* Boots
* Slickers and other appropriate work gear
Training is provided for new team members so you can learn our farm practices, equipment, and procedures safely and effectively.
Requirements
* Reliable personal transportation to travel to various work locations
* Ability to lift 75+pounds
* Ability to swim
* Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
* Willingness to work in and around water
