1969 Ford F100 Short Bed | 390 V8 | Classic Patina - clean title in hand
Running and driving strong.
Selling my 1969 Ford F100 short bed. I bought her in Carlsbad about eight years ago. She has a natural paint patina and that old farm truck look—perfect for a surf truck, weekend cruiser, or a project you can make your own.
Highlights
390 cubic-inch V8
C6 three-speed automatic transmission
Power steering and power brakes
Short bed with classic Ford styling
F250 donor components, including 8-lug axles and a Dana 60 rear end
Custom oversized radiator
According to the previous owner, the truck was restored in San Diego, the 390 was rebuilt by Ed Hale, and the C6 transmission and front suspension were rebuilt. This is history from when I purchased her, not recent work.
What I’d tackle first
Replace the carburetor
Change fluids and give her a general service
Address rust in the roof drip rails and finish those areas
Check brake lights and turn signals for proper operation
Inspect tires, brakes, belts, and hoses after sitting
Personally, I’d keep the natural patina and consider a suitable clear coat after proper prep and rust treatment to preserve the look.
All around, she’s a solid old F100 with character and room for improvement. Come take a look—she deserves someone who has time to enjoy her and throw a surfboard in the back.
