We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic contract Workers' Compensation Applicant Attorney with 2 to 3 years of experience to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing workers' compensation claims, providing expert legal counsel, and advocating for clients . Your expertise will help ensure fair resolution of claims while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex litigation, negotiate settlements, and support clients through challenging injury claims with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a caseload of workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution, including hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law related to workers' compensation law to develop effective legal strategies.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and insurance carriers.
- Represent clients in court depositions, hearings, and settlement negotiations to advocate for their rights effectively.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, insurance adjusters, and/or defense attorneys to gather evidence and facilitate fair claim resolutions.
- Prepare for trial by organizing case files, developing trial strategies, and coordinating witness testimony.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in workers' compensation law with a strong understanding of procedural law knowledge specific to this area.
- Demonstrated ability to handle workers' compensation injury cases and conduct court depositions confidently.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with strong legal advocacy abilities to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Strong writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, and detailed legal reports.
- Exceptional client communication skills to explain complex legal issues clearly and empathetically.
Pay:
$60.00 per hour. Part-Time - 15 to 20 hours per week.
