MXI Environmental Services, an Arcwood Environmental Company, is a National Environmental Services firm seeking hard-working, reliable individuals to help at local Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection events moving palletized materials with forklifts and pallet jacks. This is an excellent opportunity to break into the Environmental Services field! Requirements are show up on time, work hard, and get along well with others.

The Role: HHW events provide residents a safe way to dispose of materials like paint, automotive fluids, cleaners, pesticides/herbicides, and batteries. As a member of the staff you will help manage the collection, characterization, and packing of these materials into proper UN-rated containers for safe shipment. Materials are packed in palletize drums and cubic yard boxes. You would help with collections and loading trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks.

Schedule & Logistics:
• Days: Primarily Saturdays; some Sundays.
• Hours: Generally 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM but vary based on client
• Location: Varies every weekend. Events are held in various towns throughout the region. We run events for Prince George County, Washington DC, Harford County, Frederick County, St. Mary’s County, Kent County, Carroll County, Wicomico County, Dorchester County, and several others. We also service several of the surrounding suburbs , such as Arlington VA and Manassas. We service much of NJ, PA, Long Island, and New England as well.
• Transportation: You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the site. (Travel opportunities/bonuses may be available for distant sites).

Compensation:
• Forklift Operators ($250/day): Candidates with forklift certificates and experience.
• Entry Rate ($200/day): For candidates without any experience or educational background. This rate increases quickly with consistent attendance and hard work.
• Chemist Rate ($275/day): Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, etc.) OR a CURRENT 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate.
• Growth: Pay can increase to $350/day roles based on performance, attendance, and skill acquisition.
Staff is paid via Branch App – the same payment method for Uber, Instacart, Dominos, ect.

Requirements:
• Ability to lift 40 lbs repeatedly and remain on your feet for 8+ hours.
• Demonstratable experience operating a forklift and pallet jack.
• Reliable transportation.
• Completion of a brief online safety seminar (includes a $25 bonus in your first payment).
• Onboarding onto Branch App for payment
• Attire: Jeans and hard-toed work boots (Company provides shirts and PPE).
• Strong Work Ethic: This is a fast-paced, physical outdoor job. Reliability and respect are our highest priorities.
