SKILLED TRADESPERSON / SIGN INSTALLER – WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON
Full-Time | Woodbine, MD | Regular 4-Day Workweek
Maryland Sign Design is an established sign and custom fabrication company located in Woodbine, Maryland. We have been in business for almost 50 years and are looking for a reliable, mechanically skilled person to join our installation team.
Sign industry experience is a PLUS, but it is NOT required. We are willing to train the right person.
If you have experience in carpentry, cabinetry, millwork, construction, commercial fixture installation, displays/exhibits, graphics installation, low-voltage work, maintenance, or another hands-on skilled trade, your experience may transfer very well to this position.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Installing interior and exterior signage at commercial job sites
• Installing ADA signage, dimensional letters, lobby signs, wall graphics, privacy film and other specialty products
• Working from blueprints, architectural drawings, elevations, installation drawings and patterns on a regular basis
• Working with hand tools, power tools and installation equipment
• Taking accurate field measurements and performing site checks
• Following detailed installation plans, measurements and specifications
• Assisting with sign production and fabrication when not scheduled in the field
• Maintaining an organized work area and installation vehicles
• Working both independently and as part of an installation team
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Dependability and excellent attendance are extremely important
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools
• Skilled-trade or construction-related experience preferred
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints or architectural drawings is a strong plus
• Ability to accurately measure and follow drawings and instructions
• Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills
• Professional attitude and appearance when working at customer locations
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Sign and display industry experience is a plus, but not required
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus, but not required
WORK SCHEDULE
Our regular workweek is Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Installation schedules sometimes require Monday work and additional overtime, so applicants must be available for overtime as project schedules require.
Our schedule offers the advantage of a regular four-day workweek along with opportunities for additional overtime based on installation workload.
