The Manufacturer: Balda (Balda-Werk) was a prolific German camera manufacturer founded in Dresden in 1908. Following WWII, the company split, and this sign dates from their West German era in Bünde, when they heavily marketed highly styled 35mm cameras like the Baldessa and Baldinette lines.
The Logo & Tagline: The script "Balda" and the bottom tagline "Your Best Companion" are the exact branding elements used in Balda's global mid-century marketing campaigns.
The "Camera Craft" Imprint: The top bar features an integrated panel reading "Authorized Dealer: Camera Craft". Camera Craft was a historic, prominent photography store and catalog network. Manufacturers often customized these molded plastic or glass signs with the local camera shop’s name before shipping them to dealers.
