The figure is about 14 inches tall and about 6.5 inches wide at the widest point, the base.
The snake is patterned with scales and is colored in green and black. It sits upright on three coils with its exposed rattle standing up about 4.5 inches from the base. The rattle is a lighter shade of green with no black markings.
The head of the snake is raised up about 10.5 inches from the coil. The snake's mouth is open. The interior is painted pink, the tongue is painted red and the half inch long fangs are painted white. The eyes are painted dark black with a fleck of gray for the pupils.
The coil is rigid. The neck and head and rattle are made from a softer material.
There is a motion detector in the center of the coil which looks like a small rivet. There is also a small switch - a white and black button extends from a short black cord which can also trigger the snake to strike.
When triggered the snake strikes first, then hisses and rattles and the eyes glow red. The right eye seems to glow brighter than the left. The snake is triggered by someone's hand passing near the motion detector or by pressing the demo button.
Because the snake strikes - bending double to go after the victim's hand - when triggered by the demo switch or motion detector, it may very well scare the heck out of someone. Please use responsibly.
The bottom has a locked battery compartment. You'll need a small Phillips head screwdriver, not included, to access the battery compartment. The on and off switch and the audio speaker are also on the bottom. The four tiny "legs" on the bottom are rough to the touch, so you may want to put the snake on a padded platform to protect your surface.
We do not have the original box or instructions. We believe this is a demonstration model. It works in demonstration mode, even with the switch turned off.
