Selling my 2003 Lexus LS430 with approximately 197,000 miles.
PLEASE READ: THE ENGINE IS NO GOOD. THIS CAR WILL NEED AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT OR MAJOR ENGINE WORK AND SHOULD BE TOWED.
The car recently developed an oil leak and ticking noise. My mechanic diagnosed a failed valve on cylinder #4 and confirmed that the cylinder head is damaged. I am selling the car as-is rather than putting another engine in it.
This could be a great project for someone familiar with Lexus/Toyota, especially since the LS430 uses the 4.3L 3UZ-FE V8. These are excellent cars when running, and this one would be a good candidate for an engine swap.
Included with the car:
• Brand-new Aisin timing belt/water pump kit, still in the box
• Approximately 197,000 miles on the chassis
• 4.3L V8 / automatic transmission
• Clean, comfortable LS430 interior
• Lots of usable parts if someone wanted it as a donor/parts car
I purchased the Aisin timing belt kit intending to do the timing belt and water pump maintenance before the engine failure. The new kit goes with the car.
Again, the engine is bad and the car is NOT being represented as drivable. Plan on towing it.
I'm being completely transparent about the problem. I'm hoping it goes to someone who knows these cars and can put a replacement 3UZ-FE in it rather than seeing the whole car go to waste.
