Software business development and appt setting — $20/hr, part-time, work from home (Boston company)
Who we are: Acyclic (https://acyclic.sh) — a small software company based in Boston, MA. We build affordable software for local businesses like auto repair shops, HVAC companies, insurance agencies, and daycares. I'm the owner; you'd work directly with me.
The job: You call small local businesses from home using a script we provide, displayed in our web console alongside each number. You ask a few questions, type short notes on the answers, and log the result with one click. When an owner is interested, you book a 20-minute demo directly onto my calendar while they're on the phone — that's the "appointment setting" part. Most calls last under two minutes.
This is hourly work, not commission sales. Flat $20/hour. No quotas, no commission, no pressure tactics — we never push anyone who isn't interested. Calls and hours are logged in the console (that's how payroll is computed).
Schedule — fixed blocks, you pick:
- Morning block: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM, or
- Afternoon block: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- Monday through Friday. Commit to at least 3 blocks per week, same days each week. More blocks available if you want them (up to 2 per day).
You need:
- A quiet place to work, free of background noise
- A computer with reliable internet (you'll input notes and call records in a website in your browser)
- A phone with unlimited nationwide minutes
- A clear, friendly speaking voice and dependability — those matter more than experience
Pay and process:
- $20/hour, paid weekly (Zelle, PayPal, or bank transfer). You'll complete a W-9 (independent contractor).
- Your first shift is a paid 2-hour trial.
- To apply: reply with 2–3 sentences about yourself, which blocks/days you'd want, and some times that you are available for a 15-minute phone interview.
