Market Wagon connects local farms and food makers with customers across the region — and we're looking for a dependable contractor who wants to be a real part of making that happen.
This isn't a "show up once and disappear" gig. We're looking for someone we can count on weekly, build with over time, and potentially train to take on a larger coordinating role at the fulfillment hub.
What You'll Be Doing
Picking up orders at our Baltimore, MD hub and assembling them into customer totes before heading out
Delivering orders along an assigned route using your own vehicle
Handling totes up to 40 lbs, including carrying up stairs
Following route instructions carefully and representing Market Wagon professionally at every door
Who We're Looking For
Someone who takes pride in doing things right. You'll be trusted with perishable food, customer orders, and sometimes the hub itself — so reliability and attention to detail matter more than experience. If you're the kind of person who shows up, communicates, and takes ownership, you'll thrive here. High-performing contractors may be trained to assist with hub coordination on weeks when lead staff are unavailable.
Requirements:
- 18+ with a valid driver's license
- Your own vehicle (comfortable driving 100+ miles as needed)
- Ability to travel to Baltimore, MD for fulfillment and order pickup
- Must pass a background check
- Available Tuesdays, approximately 9am–4pm
- You don't need to work every week, but consistent availability is strongly preferred
Compensation
- $20–$23/hr (base rate + tips + mileage rate)
Same-day payment via check or EFT; bank processing typically 2–3 business days
This is independent contractor/gig work, not employment.
