Adams county sheriff department has a policy that an officer can not appear in a political ad in uniform...unless that officer has a written permission to do so. The officer (Adan Holguin) who appeared with GABE EVANS, in uniform, did not have permission. The badge on his chest was blurred out but the badge on his waist was not. S-O-O-O will Gabe Evans or Adan Holguin have some explaining to do?
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — An Adams County Sheriff’s Office detective has been reprimanded for appearing in a campaign ad for Republican U.S. Rep. Gabe Evans while wearing department-issued gear, according to a discipline letter obtained by 9NEWS.
Senior Detective Adan Holguin received a letter of reprimand on Oct. 29. The letter notes he appeared in a political commercial wearing his department-issued outer carrier and badge. The letter says that while he covered the badge on the carrier with tape and had it blurred in the commercial, a second sheriff’s office badge on his waist belt was visible for a brief period.
“Pursuant to our policy, 201.2.33 Public Statements and Appearance, appearances on television while representing the Sheriff’s Office require his approval, which was not sought nor granted in this instance,” the sheriff’s office said, adding Holguin was not suspended, did not lose pay and was not reassigned.
If an officer can drink & drive while on duty...stopped at an intersection/light, fall asleep (Aurora), nothing done, not even a test, they can do what ever the F*** they want to do and face no consequence.
