Up for sale is A restored vintage 1940s Pepsi-Cola Gullwing cooler, manufactured by Heintz Manufacturing Co.
The iconic, double-dot logo chest features two top doors that lift upward, giving it the nickname gullwing. There is a built-in bottle opener and a drip tray. You can tell its age by the use of the double dots in the logo. Pepsi switched to the single dot logo around 1950. This cooler has been restored and is in good shape, although there are a couple of surface scratches on the lid that may buff out.
When plugged in, the compressor turns on, but I did not run it long
enough to see if it still cools.
That said, this cooler is a rare collector's item and should not be used with the noisy, untested, and possibly unsafe compressor.
The best use for this old gem is as a display piece or, occasionally, as an ice chest.
This cooler measures approximately:
