seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our console furniture manufacturing team. The Painter is responsible for applying high-quality finishes to metal, and other furniture components using spray equipment and finishing techniques. This position ensures all products meet company quality standards for appearance, durability, and customer satisfaction while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare furniture components for painting by sanding, cleaning, masking, and inspecting surfaces.
Apply primers, stains, paints, sealers, and topcoats using spray guns and other finishing equipment.
Mix paints, stains, and coatings according to product specifications and color standards.
Monitor paint viscosity, spray patterns, and equipment settings to ensure consistent, high-quality finishes.
Inspect painted products for defects such as runs, drips, uneven coverage, scratches, or color inconsistencies.
Perform touch-up work and minor repairs as needed to meet quality standards.
Clean and maintain spray guns, paint booths, pumps, hoses, and other finishing equipment.
Monitor inventory of paints, stains, solvents, and finishing supplies and report shortages.
Follow production schedules to meet daily output goals while maintaining quality workmanship.
Maintain a clean and organized paint department and properly dispose of waste materials according to company and environmental regulations.
Follow all OSHA safety standards and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work closely with production, quality control, and assembly teams to ensure timely completion of finished products.
Back up to - hanging metal console furniture components onto paint line racks/hooks according to production schedules, when needed.
Back-up to removing finished parts from the paint line and inspect paint quality, finish consistency, and defects, when needed.
Prepare furniture parts for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and organizing materials.
Safely transport materials and finished products throughout the production facility.
Follow quality control procedures to ensure products meet company standards.
Communicate production issues, damaged materials, or equipment concerns to supervisors promptly.
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production demands.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, paint line, or furniture production experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Exposure to paints, stains, solvents, and finishing chemicals while using appropriate ventilation and PPE.
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet production demands.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently bend, twist, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions.
Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to paint fumes, dust, noise, and warm paint booth, and may be exposed to elevated temperatures while wearing required PPE.
