1972 Fender Silverface Champ Amp - Fullerton USA - $750 (Westminster)
QR Code Link to This Post
The Schumacher power transformer dates to the 12th week of 1972 (code: 606-2-12) with matching 1972 chassis serial A33530.
The classic AA764 handwired circuit remains the gold standard for home playing, pedal platforming, and studio recording, offering sparkling Fender cleans at low volumes and rich tube compression when pushed.
Details & Upgrades:
Power: Pure single-ended Class A tube tone (~5-6 watts)
Tubes: Vintage/correct complement (5Y3 rectifier, 6V6 power tube, 12AX7 preamp)
Speaker: Upgraded to an 8" Weber C8SS (4-ohm) ceramic speaker. This is a popular drop-in upgrade that preserves vintage tweed/silverface chime while handling low-end breakup without the muddy cone flub of original 70s speakers.
Original Speaker Included: The original factory speaker is included with the sale (it has a torn/damaged cone, but the frame/magnet is intact if you ever want to have it reconed for pure collector provenance).
Condition:
In great functional and cosmetic condition for an amp over 50 years old. Grille cloth is tight and clean, control faceplate is bright, and all knobs/switches turn smoothly. Features cool vintage provenance with an original "Bobby's Music Center" dealer plate.
Price: $650 OBO (Cash, Venmo, or Zelle)
Terms: Local pickup only in the Westminster / Broomfield area. No shipping, and no trade offers please. Serious buyers only.
