full-time technician/mechanic position requires experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while using leadership and mentoring skills in driving a team toward increased customer care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities
• Perform tire and wheel installation and maintenance, including repairing, rotating, and balancing
• Road test vehicles safely in a wide range of testing conditions.
• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services including routine maintenance such as changing oil/transmission fluid/filters, installing/checking batteries, checking electrical systems, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
• Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmissions, and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, emission systems, fuel system components etc.
• Other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a bumper to bumper technician
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a tire technician
• Verifiable practical maintenance and repair experience with automobiles, light trucks, and vans.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to drive customer and company vehicles
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team and get along easily with others
• Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks quickly and efficiently
• Ability to use and operate diagnostic computers and equipment required by the vehicles operating within the district
• Willingness to travel as necessary and work at any station or shop within the district if required
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg
• Ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
