PART-TIME CANDY PRODUCTION & PACKAGING ASSISTANT
Pioneer Valley — Orem, Utah
Pioneer Valley is a small, family-operated confectionery in Orem. We are looking for dependable people to join our candy-production team as part-time production and packaging assistants.
Candy-making experience is helpful but not required. We will train dependable people who work carefully and are willing to learn.
This position includes candy production, packaging, order preparation, and cleaning.
SCHEDULE
• Part-time weekday hours
• Exact days and hours will be discussed during the interview
• Some Saturdays may be available or required
• No Sundays
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Weigh, tub, box, and package caramels
• Label finished products
• Prepare and fill customer orders
• Assist with candy production in the kitchen
• Prepare and organize production and packaging areas
• Assist with the batch roller and other equipment after training
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Help with other production duties as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be able to:
• Lift and carry up to approximately 30 pounds
• Stand and work on their feet for extended periods
• Perform repetitive hand and packaging tasks
• Bend, reach, and move comfortably throughout the work area
• Work safely around food-production equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
• Dependable and punctual
• Strong attention to detail
• Willing and able to learn new skills
• Able to follow food-safety, production, and equipment instructions
• Able to work efficiently as part of a small team
• Comfortable occasionally participating in company social-media photos and videos
• Able to read and understand workplace and safety instructions in English
• Spanish is helpful but not required
• Food-production, kitchen, manufacturing, packaging, or confectionery experience is helpful but not required
PAY
• $14 per hour to start
• Up to $15 per hour for a particularly well-qualified candidate with production, manufacturing, or packaging experience
• Additional compensation may be considered for meaningful confectionery experience
Applicants with experience in chocolate tempering, molding, enrobing, fondant creams, hard candy, caramel production, or commercial candy-making should describe that experience when applying. More experienced applicants may qualify for a more advanced position.
ABOUT PIONEER VALLEY
Pioneer Valley makes caramels and other specialty confections. Because we are a small family-operated company, everyone helps where needed and has opportunities to learn different parts of candy production.
We are active on social media and regularly create videos showing how our candy is made and what happens behind the scenes. Employees may occasionally appear in or participate in these videos, so applicants should be comfortable being recorded while working and taking part in friendly, appropriate company content.
