Yoshitoshi Mori 1975 Kappazuri woodcut Print Signed Numbered 8/50 Japanese
Yoshitoshi Mori (1898–1992) Japanese Kappazuri Woodcut Print, 1975
Striking large-format color print by noted Japanese artist Yoshitoshi Mori, known for his bold kappazuri prints combining traditional Japanese subjects with modern graphic design.
The composition depicts a stylized female figure enveloped in dramatically flowing red, black, blue and tan robes.
Pencil signed Yoshitoshi Mori and dated 1975 beneath the image, with the artist's red seal. Numbered 8/30 at lower right.
Measures approximately 21" x 28" overall.
Vintage condition with age-related toning, waviness/handling creases and scattered discoloration/soiling, particularly in the margins. Colors remain strong and the central image displays very well. Please examine photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
An attractive and uncommon large-format example of Mori's distinctive 1970s Japanese printmaking.
