If you want to develop serious chops, a deep pocket, and real-world studio skills, you'll be learning from someone who has all the tools you need.
I studied under legendary players including Billy Hart (Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis), Marty Higgins (Nu Shooz), and local icon Mel Brown. As a touring drummer, I bring years of local gig, road, and festival experience—having played things like KEXP, SXSW, Pickathon, Festival of Dark Arts, Daytrotter, and more—directly into the lesson space.
What I cover with students:
Core fundamentals: stick control, rudiments, reading notation, and pocket.
Jazz phrasing, independence, and swing dynamics
Indie rock grooves, pocket playing, and arrangement
Studio recording skills: mic techniques, playing to a click track, and tracking your own parts
Gear tuning and maintenance
You will be learning and playing on top-tier equipment, including custom Craviotto drums and vintage and modern cymbals.
