Love wrenching? Take pride in your work? Want to work with good people?
Let’s talk.
You know that feeling when you finish a job, everything is torqued to spec, the shop is clean, the vehicle drives exactly as it should, and you know you did right by the customer?
That’s the kind of technician we’re looking for.
Springs Brake & Suspension is a locally owned, growing specialty shop in Salmon Creek, Vancouver, WA. We focus on brakes, suspension, steering, and alignments. We’re building the kind of shop where customers feel welcome, employees feel valued, and everyone can take pride in the work we put into the world.
We’ve been recognized as one of Clark County’s best, including Best of the Best Auto Repair in 2025 and 2026. But awards aren't what get us out of bed in the morning. It's doing good work, taking care of people, and earning the kind of trust that keeps a neighborhood coming back.
We're not a giant corporate shop. We don't run on high-pressure sales or commission-driven upselling. We believe in quality over shortcuts, honest recommendations, and treating customers like people—not repair orders.
And we believe the people doing the work deserve that same respect.
What makes Springs different?
🔧 You get to focus on doing the job right.
We specialize in brakes, suspension, steering, and alignments. We invest in quality equipment, maintain our tools, and work to keep the shop clean, organized, and safe. Have an idea for equipment that would make your job easier or better? Bring it up. We want to hear it.
🤝 You're a teammate, not a number.
We're a small team, which means your voice matters. Your craftsmanship gets noticed. Your ideas can influence how we operate. We want people who take ownership of their work and help make the shop better for everyone.
❤️ We care about how we treat people.
Our customers may not know a control arm from a tie rod, and that's okay. We explain things clearly, make honest recommendations, and help people make informed decisions. We expect our team to treat customers and coworkers with patience, respect, and empathy.
🧰 We invest in our people.
We offer paid continuing education, employer-supplied tools, and opportunities to grow alongside a growing business. We want you to keep learning, develop your expertise, and build a career you feel good about.
🌲 A pretty great place to spend your workday.
We're tucked away in a quieter part of Salmon Creek, backed up to beautiful Salmon Creek, with convenient access to I-5 and I-205. It's a four-bay commercial shop with quality equipment, a clean and organized work environment, and a non-corporate atmosphere.
And yes, we believe work can be fun. We take our work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.
The pay and benefits:
We want good people to stay, grow, and be rewarded for what they bring to the team.
-Competitive pay: Starting at $30/hour (no flat rate), with compensation based on experience, technical expertise, and ability.
-Quarterly performance bonuses: Share in the success of the business.

What you'll be doing:
Your primary focus will be brakes, suspension, steering, and alignments. You'll inspect, diagnose, recommend, and complete repairs while helping us maintain the high standards our customers expect.
Typical responsibilities include:
-Diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and replacing brake components, including pads, rotors, calipers, hydraulic components, and common aftermarket or performance brake systems.
-Diagnosing, inspecting, and repairing suspension and steering systems, including shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, wheel bearings, steering components, and aftermarket suspension or lift systems.
-Performing wheel alignments, including working with common aftermarket setups and lifted vehicles.
-Identifying safety concerns, maintenance needs, and related repair opportunities accurately and responsibly.
-Documenting work performed, recording findings, and communicating outstanding issues or troubleshooting needs.
-Using shop management software to document jobs, support estimates, and coordinate parts and workflow.
-Helping manage parts inventory and ordering.
-Maintaining clean, organized work areas and properly cared-for equipment.
-Following safety procedures and looking out for your teammates.
-Pitching in on other reasonable shop responsibilities when things slow down.
We need someone who can work independently after onboarding, use good judgment, and keep work moving without needing constant supervision.
What we're looking for:
This is an experienced technician position. We need someone who can hit the ground running, with minimal hands-on training in the fundamentals.
Ideally, you'll bring:
-Approximately 3–5 years of professional shop experience, or equivalent hands-on experience and demonstrated ability.
-Strong working knowledge of brake systems and suspension and steering components across common makes and models.
-Experience performing wheel alignments.
-Familiarity with automotive tools, shop equipment, and safe repair procedures.
-Experience with equipment such as strut spring compressors, hydraulic presses, vehicle lifts, pneumatic tools, and modern alignment systems, including Hunter HawkEye.
-Familiarity with shop management software such as Tekmetric, Mitchell 1, AutoLeap, Shopmonkey, or similar.
-Good organizational habits, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean shop.
-The ability to document your work, identify problems, communicate findings, and take responsibility for your jobs.
-A valid driver's license and a clean driving history.
-A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
-You should be comfortable working with a variety of common vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs, as well as aftermarket suspension and performance applications.
-You'll really stand out if you…
-Hold ASE certifications, particularly A4 (Suspension & Steering) and A5 (Brakes), or have equivalent knowledge and experience.
-Have experience with lifted trucks, leveling kits, performance suspension, or aftermarket brake systems.
-Enjoy learning new techniques and keeping your skills current.
-Know the local automotive community, from other shops and parts suppliers to car clubs, meets, and enthusiast groups.
-Take initiative, think creatively, and look for ways to make the work better, safer, or more efficient.
-Certifications are a plus, not a substitute for craftsmanship, sound judgment, and a good attitude.
Who you'll fit in with:
This part matters just as much as your technical ability.
Our core values are People First. Happy to Help. Done Right. Care You Can See.
We want someone who:
-Takes pride in their craft. You care about the details, follow procedures, and don't cut corners just to get a vehicle out the door.
-Is honest and straightforward. You make sound recommendations, communicate what you find, and never compromise your integrity to sell unnecessary work.
-Treats people well. You're respectful, patient, and willing to help customers and teammates—even when the day gets busy.
-Owns their work. You can work independently, ask questions when needed, admit mistakes, and follow through.
-Keeps things organized. You understand that a clean shop, properly maintained equipment, and good documentation are part of doing the job right.
-Thinks like a problem-solver. You enjoy diagnosing issues, figuring things out, and finding practical solutions.
-Is a team player. You contribute, communicate, help out, and understand that a great shop is built by people who have each other's backs.
-Wants to grow. You're interested in improving your skills and helping a growing local business get even better.
You don't need to be perfect. Nobody is. We do need someone who's dependable, open to feedback, committed to quality, and genuinely cares about doing good work.
A few important details about the job:
This role involves the physical demands of professional automotive repair, including working around and underneath vehicles, using lifts and machinery, manipulating tools and parts, working in noisy environments, and occasionally lifting or moving items weighing approximately 50 pounds. Work may involve hazardous materials, confined spaces, and varying temperatures.
Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided. We expect everyone to follow safety procedures, report hazards, and speak up when something isn't safe. Team lifts are encouraged whenever appropriate.
