I recently got the gecko and put this enclosure together. I've realized gargoyles just aren't the best fit for what I'm looking for. Turns out im less nocturnal than I had thought! However, that's completely normal behavior for a gargoyle - I just discovered I'd be happier with a reptile that's more visible and interactive during the day/evening.
Looking to adopting/re-homing rather than simply finding someone to take the setup. I'm especially interested in a Bearded Dragon or Blue Tongue Skink with a complete setup from someone who may be looking for a gargoyle gecko instead. I'm open to different ages/morphs and can discuss differences in setup/value either direction.
The gargoyle itself was $160, and everything in the enclosure/setup was purchased brand new within the last couple of weeks. Quite a bit more went into putting the complete setup together than I originally expected.
Included is the Exo Terra 12x12x18 front-opening enclosure with the complete climbing/decor setup, cork bark, branches, foliage, feeding ledges/dishes, thermostat/controller, heating equipment, UVB/LED lighting, programmable plant lighting, humidifier/fogger. .
Experienced/knowledgeable reptile homes only, please. The most important part for me is knowing the gecko is going to someone who understands proper care for gargoyle geckos.
I'm especially interested in:
- Bearded Dragon + complete setup
- Blue Tongue Skink + complete setup
- ** Mostly-complete setups are fine
- A straight rehome is also possible if the right home comes along. I'm thinking around $450 OBO for the gecko and complete
nearly-new package, but a good Beardie/BTS rehome is my priority.
I'm not looking for another primarily nocturnal/hide-most-of-the-day species - that's the reason I'm changing directions. 😄
