Up for your consideration is an extremely rare set of Ben "Bugsy" Siegel's personally owned Cufflinks. The cufflinks have been polished. His initial "S" is engraved in each cufflink. The Ornate and extremely detailed Cufflinks are solid 14K yellow gold...5 Grams, 2mm x 1.5mm. Ben Siegel was one of the most famous mobsters to ever live. Las Vegas would not exist today if it wasn't for Siegel and the Flamingo hotel. These cufflinks are guaranteed 100% Authentic and were obtained in person from Jim Smith, Mickey Cohen's right hand Man and James Smiths father. These cufflinks are in excellent condition especially for being over 80 years old. James Smith is the only one that I know of to exclusively own some of Ben Siegel's personally owned items.
Jim Smith, James Smiths father, took possession of these cufflinks and many of Mickey Cohen's belongings upon his death. Ben Siegel had Mickey meet him before his death. He told Mickey he had some big problems and for Mickey to get some guns together for him. He also told Mickey to hold a bag of his personal things. These cufflinks were in that bag. Ben was killed before he ever got to meet Mickey again. After Siegel's death Cohen took several of Ben's personal belongings including some of his jewelry items. James Smiths father later acquired these cufflinks and some other Ben Siegel items upon Mickey Cohen's death. In January of 1972 Mickey was released from the Federal Penitentiary. Jim Smith picked him up from prison and was with him everyday until his death. Mickey died in July of 1976 due to cancer. When Mickey Cohen died James Smiths father took over most of Mickey's possessions. James Smiths father has recently passed and left him his treasured mob collection.
Mickey Cohen was Ben "Bugsy" Siegel's right hand man. After Ben Siegel was knocked off by his Syndicate partners for skimming from the Flamingo, Mickey Cohen took over the mob's West Coast. He took over for Ben and was very successful. "I took over from Benny right away on instructions from the people back east," he said. "Naturally, I missed Benny, but to be honest with you, his getting knocked off was not a bad break for me. Pretty soon I was running everything out "Cohen's famous quote was "I never killed a man who didn't deserve it." Cohen hung around with all of the Top celebrities and political figures. He was very good friends with Frank Sinatra and the Rat pack.
