SHAW APL is seeking a dependable, professional CDL Class A Driver to join our team at our Vancouver, Washington headquarters.
SHAW APL is an asset-based warehousing, transportation, and project logistics company specializing in the handling and delivery of high-value equipment, fixtures, and commercial products. Our drivers are an important part of our operation and represent SHAW APL directly with our customers.
This is a primarily local driving position with occasional regional work and limited overnight travel. It's a great opportunity for an experienced driver who takes pride in their equipment, values safety, enjoys a variety of work, and wants to be part of a company where their contribution matters.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Operate tractor-trailers, including 53' dry vans and 48' flatbeds (occasionally straight trucks)
* Perform primarily local pickups and deliveries with occasional regional runs
* Support scheduled project and time-sensitive deliveries
* Safely secure, transport, and deliver high-value customer equipment
* Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
* Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, BOL's, ELD records, and proof of delivery
* Communicate professionally with dispatch, warehouse teams, customers, and jobsite personnel
* Assist with loading, unloading, and delivery activities when required
* Maintain clean, safe, and professional company equipment
* Follow all DOT, FMCSA, company, and customer safety requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Valid **Class A CDL**
* Minimum 3 years of CDL Class A driving experience
* Clean and acceptable driving record
* Current DOT medical card
* Strong commitment to safe driving
* Dependable attendance and punctuality
* Professional attitude and appearance
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
* Comfortable with a mix of driving, deliveries, and hands-on project work
* Ability to accommodate a schedule that may fluctuate based on customer and project requirements
* Flatbed and load-securement experience is a plus
* Experience with specialized, high-value, or jobsite deliveries is a plus
SCHEDULE & HOME TIME
This position is primarily local, allowing our drivers to be home most nights. Regional runs are occasionally required, with overnight trips generally limited to a couple of times per month, depending on customer and project needs.
Because SHAW APL supports time-sensitive deliveries and project logistics, start times and daily schedules may fluctuate based on our customers delivery requirements. Flexibility is an important part of this position.
