We are hiring experienced, motivated, and team-oriented individuals. Prior experience with custom fabrication AND installation in a production capacity is required. Advanced carpentry and fabrication skills are mandatory.
Drop Works has been a leader in set/scenic/custom fabrication in the Bay Area for over 25 years. We design, source and fabricate various elements for retail and event activations, scenic architecture for commercial photo shoots and product testing, and permanent and semi-permanent retail build-outs. No one project is ever the same at Drop Works, and this work requires an understanding and capacity for working in a production based fabrication environment. We operate a large fabrication shop located in Vallejo, CA, but our projects install all over the Bay Area and sometimes beyond (Los Angeles, New York).
Self-transport is required as employees sometimes are often assigned to work at offsite locations around the Bay Area. These installations can last one day or weeks, depending on the scope of the project. Early mornings, possible travel, evenings, weekends, and overtime are all required parts of the role.
We are hiring for builders for immediate full-time employment. This position job requires overtime and longer days as needed depending on project deliverables and production schedule.
Responsibilities include carpentry based custom fabrication for activations and scenic architecture and permanent retail fixtures, logistics, transport and installation of custom fabricated elements and sets, and any and all manner of fabrication projects for commercial customers and private events. A significant amount of tasks are completed in small teams, and being able to work well with other people, under tight deadlines is a must.
Candidates with strong communication skills, a positive demeanor, a flexible approach to the work and problem solving skills, tend to be a great fit for our company. The work environment is fast-paced and requires excellent organizational skills, strong self motivation and the ability to adjust easily to changing expectations based on our client and company needs.
