I'm a UC Berkeley student looking for an opportunity to gain more hands-on experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, systems administration, and computer troubleshooting.
I'm open to paid part-time work, internships, contract work, or a structured volunteer opportunity where I can assist an individual, small business, nonprofit, school, repair shop, or IT team while continuing to develop practical IT skills.
My background includes Associate degrees in Computer Science and Information Systems, along with certifications in Networking and Systems Administration. I have experience working with Windows, Linux, Python, Bash, Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions, and general technical troubleshooting.
Most recently, I completed a scientific computing internship with the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), where I worked in a Linux/HPC environment, built automated testing workflows with GitHub Actions, ran regression tests, and used Python to investigate and troubleshoot scientific data and software issues.
I also currently work with Japanese arcade and crane machines, where I perform routine maintenance, programming, functionality checks, inventory management, and troubleshooting while assisting customers with technical problems.
At this stage, I would especially like more practical experience with areas such as:
- Windows and macOS troubleshooting
- Help desk and ticketing systems
- Software installation and configuration
- Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace support
- User accounts, permissions, and access issues
- Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID
- Desktop and laptop deployment
- Networking and connectivity troubleshooting
- Hardware upgrades and diagnostics
- Endpoint management
- IT documentation and inventory
- Basic system administration
- Remote technical support
I am comfortable learning unfamiliar systems, documenting problems, working through technical issues methodically, and communicating with users who may not have a technical background.
I'm not expecting someone to teach me everything from the beginning. I'm looking for an environment where I can contribute with the technical experience I already have while learning how professional IT support is handled in practice.
I'm based in Berkeley and am interested in opportunities throughout Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, and the surrounding Bay Area.
If you are an IT professional, small business owner, nonprofit, repair shop, managed service provider, or organization that could use an additional set of hands, I would be happy to speak with you.
