- This is a rare (American Colonial/Victorian Era) and in excellent condition 150 year old "American Sewing Machine Co." Model 1 Treadle Sewing Machine in working condition.
- The wood top, fold down extension, machine lid/cover, and drawers are all solid hardwood (Ash and Walnut) with burl maple veneer accents (lid & drawer fronts).
- The wood components had cracks from being brought out to Arizona from the Northeastern US and they have all been stabilized with pins and epoxy. The table top and top of the lid/machine cover were stripped, lightly sanded, re-stained to match, and sealed with 3 coats of polyurethane for a long-life finish.
- The sewing machine has been oiled and adjusted and is in good working order – and it sews good, but I am a novice at it and further adjustments to the tension will improve that. The bobbin winder was disassembled, cleaned, and a new rubber tire installed, and is in working order. The paint has been lightly cleaned and polished and looks great for 150 years old.
I WILL BE INSTALLING A NEW LEATHER DRIVE BELT on it this Friday 08/21/26
