Guitar Research JX17N Eddie Durham 100th Anniversary Commemorative Electric Hollow body Jazz Guitar
Very nice maple archtop made for Sam Ash by Peerless in Korea. The body and neck are made from maple, with full binding throughout. The rosewood fingerboard features a set of pearloid block inlays with Eddie Durham's signature at the 12th fret. Additional features include vintage style tuners and tailpiece, and a tortoise pickguard with special engraving and mounted volume/tone controls, and a D’Angelico style headstock. Single floating Johnny Smith style mini-humbucker pickup. Condition is good to very good. The only modification has been to replace the plastic nut with a Graphtech Black TUSQ XL Nut. There is some cracking between the fretboard binding and the neck near the nut, but this has been glued and sealed. This is fairly common on many of the Korean made guitars and does not affect the sound or playability. If you're looking for an entry level jazz or blues guitar, this is it!
Guitar Research was the house brand name distributed by Sam Ash Music and the Eddie Durham 100th Anniversary model was only sold for one year, 2006. Not related to the current Guitar Research brand name used by Schechter.
