Gretsch Electromatic G2202 Junior Jet Bass. Made in South Korea in the early 2000s. Solid basswood single-cutaway body, bolt-on maple neck with a short 30.3" scale length and rosewood fretboard, aTV Jones-designed mini-humbucking bass pickup, heavy-duty 4-saddle adjustable bridge and open-gear/die-cast chrome tuners.

The pickup has a slightly hot, vintage-flavored tone that sits somewhere between a Gibson Thunderbird growl and a punchy warm Motown/p-bass thump. The short scale combined with the thin neck profile makes it exceptionally fast and very comfortable to play. These early Korean production units are known for their rock-solid fretwork, finish durability, and overall build quality, and are highly regarded among short-scale bass enthusiasts and is widely praised for its solid build quality, vintage vibe, and huge low-end projection for a short-scale instrument. $185
