This is a polished black obsidian sphere. This sphere exhibits subtle parallel bandings or layers which when caught in direct light, often reveal internal chatoyancy known as a gold or silver layer caused by microscopic gas bubbles trapped when cooling. These are utilized in meditation and crystal healing practices.
