Built by MTD, I believe, sold through Agway. Hydraulic log splitter, splits a 28" long round, very good cycle time, improved, actually, from stock. I replaced the original 8 hp Briggs and Stratton, with a 10 hp, Tecumseh. Starts easily 1, or 2 pulls, when cold, 1 warm, summer or winter. I usually used it alone, would take me about 2 1/2 hours to split a cord, if You have 2 guys, or a kid pulling the lever, this will split a cord in an hour and a half, if the wood is pretty vertical grain. Mostly a matter of keeping it supplied so the ram is always moving. It will split gnarlier stuff, no problem, but it takes longer when you have to wrestle the grain. Lol. I am asking $800, which is a pretty fair price, knowing what this machine can do. An equivalent type of machine now, new, retail, is usually 2000, to 2200. I heat with wood, and fell into a larger, faster unit when this machine was down and waiting for the new engine. I have plenty of oak, ash, and hickory rounds, if you wanna see it work, before you buy. And, if you wanna rent it for a week or 2, put it to work on your own pile, before you buy, we can work something out. It does operate vertically, as well as horizontally, has a hitch for towing. No leaks, not too loud.
