Position Summary
Spa de Soleil, Inc., a cosmetic, personal-care, and OTC product manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Compounder / Pre-Weigh Technician. This position is responsible for accurately weighing raw materials, preparing batches, operating compounding equipment, and completing all required manufacturing documentation in accordance with formulas, batch records, SOPs, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Primary Responsibilities
Accurately weigh and stage raw materials according to approved batch records.
Verify raw-material names, lot numbers, expiration dates, quantities, and status labels before use.
Compound cosmetic, personal-care, and OTC products following approved formulas and written manufacturing instructions.
Operate mixing vessels, homogenizers, pumps, transfer equipment, scales, and related machinery.
Follow the required order of addition, mixing speeds, temperatures, processing times, and cooling instructions.
Perform and document in-process checks, including temperature, appearance, pH, viscosity, and batch yield.
Calculate ingredient quantities, batch adjustments, and material usage accurately.
Maintain complete and legible pre-weigh and batch-production records.
Properly label weighed materials, containers, work-in-process products, and finished bulk.
Report material discrepancies, equipment problems, deviations, or unusual batch conditions immediately.
Coordinate with Quality Control, Production, Warehouse, and Raw Materials departments.
Clean and sanitize tanks, utensils, equipment, and compounding areas according to established procedures.
Follow safety requirements when handling chemicals, powders, fragrances, oils, and other raw materials.
Prevent contamination, cross-contamination, and material mix-ups.
Assist with inventory reconciliation and return unused materials to their designated locations.
Follow all company SOPs, GMP requirements, safety rules, and quality procedures.
Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on compounding and pre-weigh experience in cosmetic, personal-care, pharmaceutical, OTC, food, or a similar manufacturing environment.
Experience reading formulas, batch records, specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
Strong knowledge of weighing procedures and unit conversions, including grams, kilograms, ounces, and pounds.
Ability to perform basic production math accurately.
Experience using industrial scales and compounding equipment.
Understanding of GMP, sanitation, documentation, traceability, and contamination-control requirements.
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to communicate in English sufficiently to understand safety instructions, formulas, labels, and batch documentation.
Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience manufacturing lotions, creams, cleansers, oils, gels, shampoos, conditioners, or OTC products.
Experience operating large mixing tanks, homogenizers, and transfer pumps.
Forklift or pallet-jack experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds safely.
Ability to bend, reach, climb steps, and work around industrial manufacturing equipment.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, masks, hair restraints, and protective clothing.
Ability to work in areas where fragrances, powders, oils, and manufacturing chemicals are present.
