In search of a skilled, compassionate and responsible Community Support Specialist //Companion to help an adult with mental health symptoms build skills in the community with the aim to start on or about October 1st.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with providing feedback on meaningful ways to socially engage with others,
- Model healthy social skills
- Provide companionship
- Create/follow a daily schedule and routine
- Broaden social activities / hobbies
- Observe any potential signs of distress and share observations with family and care team.
- Maintain healthy boundaries while building a trusting relationship
Offering:
- Consultation with professional care team, including feedback on how to carry out deliverables
- Part-time hours with flexibility. Hours are typically weekdays in the 10am - 3pm range, 3-5 hours at a time, totaling 10-15 hours per week.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a human services or health care related field (e.g., psychology, education, social work, nursing)
- Work takes place in the community around Dulles Airport, so applicants must have a safe and reliable vehicle, valid driver's license with clean driving record, car insurance, and feel comfortable driving the person in their personal vehicle.
