The Fulltone PlimSoul is a unique dual-stage overdrive and distortion guitar pedal created by Michael Fuller and Fulltone.
Original Release and DesignLaunch: Released around 2010 as a new flagship overdrive following the massive success of Fulltone's OCD pedal.
Dual-Stage Circuit: uniquely combined two distinct clipping methods in one circuit.
Stage 1 (Soft Clipping): Offered a warm, compressed, asymmetrical soft-clipping overdrive similar to classic tube-screamer styles.
Stage 2 (Hard Clipping): Added a separate hard-clipping circuit using LEDs that could be blended in via a secondary knob to mimic the toothy crunch of a cranked tube amp.
Visual Indicator: Included a dedicated LED for Stage 2 that changed intensity based on your playing dynamics and the amount of hard clipping mixed into the signal.
