I'm giving away our enormous, originally $3,000 modular sectional couch. I genuinely love this thing, but after years of kids, cats, and everyday family chaos, I've accepted that it's time for us to part ways.
IT IS FUNCTIONAL, BUT IT IS ROUGH. PLEASE READ BEFORE MESSAGING!
The Good Stuff
- Originally purchased for approximately $3,000
- Large modular sectional that can be rearranged into different configurations.
- Can be configured into a massive lounging/sleeping area.
- Individual pieces have built-in storage compartments.
- Can be arranged as a sectional, separate chairs, ottomans, or a giant family lounging space.
- Still usable and functional despite the cosmetic wear.
- Originally a 12-piece set. I currently have 9 pieces inside and believe another 2–3 are outside. I'll confirm the final count before pickup.
The Not-So-Good Stuff (Full Disclosure!)
The cats: We have cats. We also have scratching posts EVERYWHERE. Apparently, those were merely suggestions, because the cats decided the $3,000 couch was a much better canvas for their artistic expression.
There are scratched corners, frayed upholstery, and areas with visible fabric damage. I've included close-up photos. This is not a pristine couch!
The kids: We have three special-needs children, and this couch has been through the trenches of family life. It needs a serious cleaning. Between the kids, cats, and everything else on my plate, I simply do not have the time to deep-clean this monster constantly.
The storage: One ottoman has a lifting mechanism that's out of alignment or otherwise not working properly. We still use it for diaper storage, but the hardware needs attention. We haven't investigated whether it's an easy fix.
The outdoor pieces: A few sections have been stored outside, so please expect additional wear or cleaning needs on those pieces.
Why Am I Giving Away a $3,000 Couch?
Because I need my sanity more than I need this couch.
I actually looked into buying covers for it because I love how versatile and comfortable it is. But then I remembered that covers would mean washing approximately a million separate pieces of fabric every time life happens.
And life happens A LOT around here.
I also desperately need a couch that sits flush against the floor. I'm officially retiring from the daily archaeological expeditions underneath the sofa to recover toys, crumbs, and unidentified objects.
This couch has served us well. It's just not the right couch for our family anymore.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE PICKUP REQUIREMENTS
THIS IS AN ALL-OR-NOTHING GIVEAWAY.
I'm giving away the ENTIRE sectional, not individual pieces.
- You must take ALL available pieces.
- You must come pick it up.
- You must bring your own vehicle, help, and whatever equipment you need to move it.
- I cannot deliver it.
- I cannot transport any of it to a thrift store, donation center, or dump.
- I cannot be responsible for leftover pieces or disposal.
- Everything goes together, AS-IS.
I am exhausted, my plate is overflowing, and I'm trying to simplify our household. I don't have the time or energy to coordinate twelve separate furniture transactions or figure out what to do with the pieces someone doesn't want.
If you take it, you take ALL OF IT.
If you want to clean it, repair it, reupholster it, cover it, use it in a garage or game room, or turn it into the world's largest cat throne, that's entirely up to you!
I just need it gone, in one pickup, without anything left behind.
