We're a Basque-inspired restaurant on the Highway 101 corridor in Solana Beach, and we're looking for a reliable, hard-working server assistant to support our front-of-house team. We serve our dishes tapas style with influence of Northern Spanish and French in a lively, shareable-plate setting. This is a great role for someone with restaurant experience who wants to grow toward a server position with a very fast dynamic environment.
Availability (non-negotiable):
Must be available Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings
Service runs Wednesday-Sunday, roughly 5:00 PM to 9:00 or 10:00 PM
What you'll do:
Support servers with table maintenance: running food, clearing, resetting, and refilling water
Deliver dishes accurately and on time, and know what you're carrying (pintxos, raciones, paellas)
Keep plates, glassware, and silverware flowing so shared-plate tables never feel cluttered
Work closely with servers, the bar, and the kitchen with clear, calm communication
Help with opening and closing duties: setup, polishing, stocking, and cleaning
Keep stations clean and follow all food safety and sanitation standards
What we're looking for:
1+ year of restaurant experience (busser, food runner, or back server in a full-service restaurant preferred)
Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and teamwork
Friendly, professional presence with guests
Curiosity about food and wine, and a willingness to learn (we'll train you)
Valid California Food Handler card (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Able to stand and walk 6-8 hours, and carry trays, bus tubs, and glassware up to 30 lbs
To apply:
Reply with your resume (or a quick summary of your restaurant experience) and your availability. Please do not apply if you cannot work weekends.
Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster.
