George Halas was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963 as part of its inaugural 17 member charter class. He was enshrined alongside 16 other pioneers of the game, including Jim Thorpe, Curly Lambeau, and Red Grange. As a co-founder of the NFL and the long-time owner and head coach of the Chicago Bears, he is honored with his very own Pro Football Hall of Fame biographical page. During his 40 years as head coach of the Bears, Halas compiled a 318-148-31 regular-season record and won 6 NFL championships. Revolutionized football by perfecting the T-formation attack with the man in motion and was the first to use game films to study opponents. The lasting impact of Halas is also permanently recognized at the Pro Football Hall of Fame which is located on George Halas Drive in Canton Ohio.
