I'm looking for someone with cricket experience to teach my 11-year-old son and help him develop his skills and love of the game.
He is autistic, so I'm especially looking for someone who is patient, encouraging, and comfortable giving him a little extra time to process instructions and transition between activities. For example, he may take longer to get his helmet on, respond to an instruction, or get ready for the next drill. He does best with someone who won't rush him.
I'd like him to work on:
• Batting technique and footwork
• Bowling
• Catching and fielding
• Running between wickets
• Cricket rules and strategy
• Fitness, agility and reaction skills
You do not need to be a professional coach. Former school, university, club, district or competitive cricket players are very welcome. Experience working with kids or autistic children is a plus, but patience and a willingness to teach are most important.
📍 Shallowater/Lubbock area
🗓️ Ideally once a week
⏱️ Approximately 60–75 minutes per session, allowing some flexibility for equipment and transition time
💰 $20 per session to start, with longer sessions or other arrangements discussed separately
🏏 We already have our own equipment, including cricket bats, wickets, a helmet and tennis balls for practice. Additional training equipment is welcome but not required.
Lessons would take place at a public park or field with a parent present.
If you're interested, please message me with your cricket experience, where/at what level you've played, any experience teaching kids, and your availability.
Please feel free to share this with anyone in the Lubbock, Texas Tech, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, international, or other cricket-playing communities. 🏏
