The Weekend Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the upkeep of Sebastopol Center for the Arts indoor and outdoor spaces, serving as a key point of contact for renters and ensuring the facility operates smoothly. This is a part-time role with a minimum of 12 hours per week with a flexible schedule that generally includes weekends, and evenings depending on event needs.
Typical shifts run 9am-3pm Saturday and Sunday.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Cleaning & Maintenance
Perform regular cleaning of all interior spaces including galleries, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas
Maintain supply inventory for cleaning products and request restock as needed
Promptly address spills, damage, or safety hazards
Coordinate with management on any repair or maintenance needs requiring outside contractors
Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and presentable before and after events and rentals
Maintain inventory of linens (Laundry + Sorting)
Renter & Event Support
Greet and assist facility renters; provide orientations to space layout, policies, and equipment
Coordinate building access for renters and ensure proper lock-up, maintain security
Serve as the on-site point of contact for renter questions or facility issues during rental periods
Conduct post-rental walkthroughs to assess space condition and document any concern
Grounds & Outdoor Upkeep
Maintain exterior grounds including sweeping entryways, managing trash and recycling, and general tidiness
Perform light landscaping duties such as weeding, watering, and general upkeep of gardens and outdoor areas as needed
Report any infrastructure or landscaping issues to management
Audio/Visual Support
Set up, operate, and break down basic AV equipment including projectors, screens, microphones, and sound systems for events and rentals
Troubleshoot common AV issues and provide basic technical assistance to renters and event organizers
Desired Qualifications:
Proven experience in facility caretaking.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals including Staff, Artist/volunteers and trades people.
Ability to learn new skills
Some amount of technical aptitude or knowledge.
Physical requirements:
Must lift up to 50 Lbs
Must bend, push and carry.
Must climb a 14 foot ladder.
Must operate indoor hydraulic lift.
