Up for sale is a stunning, highly collectible piece of horological history: a vintage Universal Genève Polerouter Date, reference 204604-1.
For those who know vintage watches, the Polerouter is legendary. It was originally penned by the iconic Gérald Genta at just 23 years old (before he went on to design the Royal Oak and Nautilus). This specific 204604 reference series represents one of the definitive early configurations of the Polerouter Date.
The watch features a beautiful silver/champagne sunburst dial that has developed an incredible, organic "crème brûlée" patina. It sits on a vintage stainless steel expansion bracelet that matches its mid-century aesthetic perfectly.
