The SDJM-18 is essentially Sigma's tribute to a vintage/Golden Era Martin D-18 — specifically the pre-war "slope shoulder" style dreadnought Martin made famous in the 1930s-40s. This one is a 2021 in excellent condition with hardly a scratch on it. It has some rubbing along the Ebony fret board from honest playing. It sound great too.

Closest match: Martin D-18 (Golden Era / Authentic 1937 spec)

Slope Shoulder is literally Martin's own term for the original 1930s dreadnought silhouette (as opposed to the "square shoulder" body Martin moved to later). Calling it out by name is a direct nod to Martin's own vintage-reissue lineup.
Adirondack spruce top + solid mahogany back/sides is the exact classic D-18 recipe from that era — this tonewood pairing is what gives D-18s their punchy, dry, midrange-forward "cannon" tone prized by bluegrass and flatpicking players.
Dovetail neck joint, ebony board/bridge, bone nut/saddle, 25.4" scale, 1-3/4" nut — all standard Martin D-18 spec.
The "Aging Toner" polished gloss finish mimics the amber/vintage-tint finish Martin uses on its Golden Era and Authentic series to replicate a decades-old guitar's look.
Other close cousins:

Gibson Advanced Jumbo / Southern Jumbo — similar mahogany-and-spruce vintage tone wood combo and a rounder-shouldered vintage silhouette, though Gibson's body isn't a true dreadnought and has a different bracing pattern (X-brace placement, scale length) so it voices a bit differently — more midrange bark, less low-end than a D-18-style guitar.

Collings D1A / D1A Traditional and Bourgeois Country Boy/Vintage D — boutique-tier builders making the same "slope shoulder mahogany D-18 homage" concept, generally regarded as a notch above Sigma in build/materials but at 3-5x the price.

Martin D-18 Modern Deluxe or plain D-18 (current production) — same recipe, higher-end materials/finish, but the closest mainstream comparison in tone character.
