Technically, these jackets are goatskin, not cowhide. They're both made by LLBean, which no longer carries these. They are very well made, as is typical of LLBean who originally sold them with a life-long money back guarantee. I cannot offer such a guarantee, but if you try them on, you'll immediately recognize the quality of the construction. You can find comparable jackets online as a simple web search will reveal. New they go for between $350 and $700.
These are comfortable jackets and warm enough for most winter days over a light sweater or sweatshirt.
They have heavy duty zippers, acetate linings, 1 interior pocket as well as 4 exterior pockets. One of them has a faux-fur collar.
I received one as a present over 40 years ago. It has been well preserved and the leather is not dry. It is a Small regular, roughly the equivalent of a 38 regular. I wore it for many years. It is one of those jackets that feels like your weathering a glove or a piece of equipment. It got me through many winters in those days. There are a couple of flaws in the woven cuffs and a couple of worn spots in the leather near the cuffs, but nothing serious. These are shone in the photos. I'm asking $150 for this one.
The second one was a gift from my wife many years later, about 20 years ago. It has a plain leather collar. It was hardly ever worn and is in practically new condition. The size is Medium regular, roughly equivalent to a 42 regular. I'm asking $200 for this one.
