Small forestry and land management company is looking to bring on one or two new crew members to the team. Our projects are diverse ranging from a few acres to over a hundred across an array of forest types. The ideal candidate is familiar with forest types of the Southwest as well as prescriptions, is strong with the saw, has a can-do attitude and strong problem solving skills. We are open to training a less experienced individual if the candidate is a good fit although some saw experience is still required. This is a full time permanent position.

-Thinning
-Hazard tree felling
-Forest management (writing and implementing prescriptions)
-Noxious weed management
-Erosion mitigation and water management
-Slash management
-Pruning
-Wildfire mitigation
-Revegetation
Job Responsibilities:
-Use of chainsaw to fell and buck trees
-Use of hand tools
-Maintain equipment (heavy and light)
-Manage slash
-Operate equipment if skills allow
-Proper use of personal protective equipment
-Assist with forestry operations
Job description and qualifications:
-Work safely - make good decisions in potentially stressful situations
-Physically demanding job requires repeated, strenuous labor
-Strong communication skills in technically demanding forestry situations
-Highly competent with forestry tools: winches, chokers, hand tools etc.
-Highly competent with the chainsaw (professional experience only)
-Mechanical skills: troubleshooting and repair
-Work well as a team
-Able to accomplish tasks solo
-Operating experience is a plus (skid steers, masticator, excavator, skidder etc.)
-Overtime is a requirement of the job
-Travel is a requirement of the job

Where we work:
-Winter work is generally in Albuquerque and the Rio Grande Valley

Employees are required to have their own transportation. When working out of town we either stay in Airbnb or camp.

Compensation:
-Wage: $20-$26/hr. Wages can vary based on job we are on.
