We are seeking an experienced Security Manager to oversee security operations at a busy local bar and entertainment venue.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is confident managing a security team, maintaining a safe environment, and handling challenging situations professionally.
Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and coordinate security staff during operating hours
Assign posts, manage schedules, and ensure adequate coverage
Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and performers
Monitor entrances, exits, crowd activity, and restricted areas
Handle incidents, disturbances, removals, and other security-related situations
De-escalate conflicts and use sound judgment in high-pressure situations
Enforce venue policies consistently and professionally
Coordinate with management and emergency services when necessary
Conduct shift briefings and communicate expectations clearly to the security team
Document incidents and maintain accurate security reports
Monitor staff performance and address issues as they arise
Help develop and maintain effective security procedures and protocols
Ensure security staff maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Training and hiring new staff as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in security, preferably in a bar, nightclub, concert venue, hospitality, or other high-volume environment
Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to remain calm and professional during confrontational situations
Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work late nights, weekends, and holidays
Comfortable standing and being active for extended periods
Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to work effectively with management, staff, and the public
Current security-related licensing/certifications as required by applicable law
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a responsible, level-headed leader who understands both customer service and security. You should be comfortable taking charge of a team, recognizing potential problems before they escalate, and responding appropriately when incidents occur.
Hospitality or nightlife security experience is a strong plus.
